Daniele De Rossi is the new Spal's coach
S.P.A.L. announces that it has entrusted Daniele De Rossi with the position of coach of the first team.
The new Biancazzurro coach has signed a contract until 30 June 2024.
Born in Rome on July 24, 1983, De Rossi grew up in the youth sector of the A.S. Rome and on 30 October 2001 made his debut with the first Giallorossi team, taking over the match against Anderlecht, valid for the group stage of the 2001/2002 Champions League.
It's only the beginning of an eighteen-season adventure made up of 616 total appearances, of which 464 in Serie A, 59 in the Italian Cup, 65 in the Champions League and 34 in the Europa League, making him the second player with the most appearances. always in the history of the A.S. Rome behind Francesco Totti.
It was the historic Giallorossi captain, after his retirement, who gave him the captain's armband that De Rossi will wear in a total of 207 games, becoming the fourth captain for number of appearances behind Totti himself, Giacomo Losi and Giuseppe Giannini.
After the personal records and the conquest of two Italian Cups and an Italian Super Cup, in the summer of 2019 he leaves the A.S. Rome and before retiring from football decides to live one last experience with the Boca Juniors shirt, with which on 14 August 2019 he realizes his first and only goal at the Bombonera in Buenos Aires in the Argentina Cup match against Almagro .
De Rossi was not an absolute protagonist only with the Capitoline team, but also with the Italian national team. On 4 September 2004 he made his debut with the Azzurri shirt, immediately going on the net in the match against Norway, valid for the 2006 World Cup qualifiers: a competition in which Italy will return to raise the highest football trophy, beating in the final the France for 6-4 after the penalties, in which De Rossi put his signature by transforming one of the shots from the spot.
