Luca Calapai and Vincenzo Polito introduced today

The press conference to present defenders Luca Calapai and Vincenzo Polito was held this morning at the Press Room of the "G.B. Fabbri" Sports Center.

As usual, the Technical Area Director Alex Casella introduced the two new signings of the white and blue club: "With Luca and Vincenzo we complete the defensive department, a department that was still missing a few pieces. The arrival of Polito materialized with the departure of Breit while Luca was an objective that we had for some time, also in this case, as with Mignanelli, it was a long negotiation, we were looking for a full-back with his characteristics, who had a lot of running and quality in the final 20 meters, we managed to bring them to Ferrara so I am very happy with their arrival."

The word then passed to full-back Luca Calapai: "I am happy because I know I have arrived in a very important team, which has an equally important club behind it with very warm fans. Today my main goal is to align myself as soon as possible with the mentality of the coach, staff and team, the working method was clear from the start so I hope to close this gap as soon as possible.
I knew some of my teammates because I had played against them in the past; I found a united dressing room, a good group dedicated to work and sacrifice and a good enthusiasm to face the week in the best possible way."

"As for my characteristics - concluded Calapai - I am a defender so first of all I have to defend but I also really like to participate in the offensive action and if the opportunity arises I also try to score some goals, an aspect that distinguishes modern full-backs."

After Calapai, Vincenzo Polito introduced himself: "being here in Ferrara represents an important step for my growth path and I am very happy about it, so I am doing my utmost to reach the ideal condition as soon as possible and give a hand to my teammates. As Luca said, I can confirm that I have found a united and aligned group in terms of mentality. The coach is very tough, he makes us work hard on the pitch but I think this is only a positive thing because it will bear fruit."

"I have always played right back - concluded Polito - but I also really like playing as a centre back, a role that I had the opportunity to cover in my last experience in Messina. In general I consider myself a versatile player, with personality and therefore I am completely at the disposal of the coach who will decide in which role to use me."
