Official Statement - The words of President Joe Tacopina

President Joe Tacopina reiterates his role and commitment to the future of the club

President Joe Tacopina wishes to clarify the current situation of the club and reaffirms his firm intention to continue investing in the club with the goal of overcoming the sporting difficulties and ensuring a solid and successful future.
"This season, unfortunately, has not met our expectations or those of all SPAL fans. It is certainly not what we expected, and the moment we are going through, in terms of sporting results, is objectively difficult. However, I want to reassure our partners, fans, employees, and the community that we have no intention of giving up. Our determination to carry forward the SPAL project is stronger than ever. I want to reiterate that the commitment from me and my partners remains absolute. The team, now more than ever, needs the support of everyone, and we will not fail to provide ours."

An investment for the future
The President confirmed that, despite the current difficulties, the club will continue to invest in all the necessary areas to relaunch the project. "We have always believed and continue to believe in the value of our club and the potential of our players. The season is not over yet, and the priority remains to fight to stay in the league. At the same time, however, we are already looking to the short, medium, and long-term future through a targeted plan that will allow us to grow technically and, at the same time, continue to improve our financial situation."

A commitment to restart
What matters now is securing safety, which will mark the beginning of a new phase of growth with renewed enthusiasm. "We do not want to view problems with fear, we do not want excuses or justifications, but we are aware that every difficulty also brings an opportunity for change. The team has my trust and that of my partners, and together, with everyone's help, we are ready to restart, planning a future season that will live up to the ambitions of our club and the city it represents."

The ownership group
"In recent months, I have read many unfounded reports and various speculations: I am and will continue to be the president of SPAL. My work as a lawyer has kept me away from Ferrara, but I have constant discussions with General Director Luca Carra and Technical Area Director Alex Casella on everything that happens within the club, and I actively participate in all decisions that are made.

To demonstrate the ownership's closeness to the club, especially to the team during this delicate moment, my most important partner, Marcello Follano, came to Ferrara to spend time with the directors, staff, and players with the goal of conveying our confidence to them for the final stretch of the season we are about to face.

As for the events that took place after the match against Ternana, I believe they have been misunderstood and have led to controversies that don't help anyone. Marcello, like myself and our other Partners, cares deeply about Spal. We have invested a lot and will do everything within our power to finish this season in the best possible way.

I hope to be able to come to Ferrara soon, and as President, I want to thank all the people who are always close to SPAL because in this delicate moment, any goal is achievable only by uniting the forces of everyone and staying united.

Forza SPAL!"
